Nina Parrotta is a 26 year old interdisciplinary artist residing on unceded Lekwungen territory. She has a BFA majoring in Visual Arts Honours and a minor in Applied Ethics. Parrotta has been a photographer for nine years and has a keen interest in photography theory, with an affinity for the likes of Sontag. She draws from street photography and the urban landscape particularly in her more recent work, taking portraits of garbage, found objects, and spilled drinks often.
Parrotta's research spans far and wide, as she is a classically trained pianist and composer, and has been DJing in Victoria's underground for the past two years. She also has a vested interest in sculpture, installation and conceptual artwork. |
